Parents Association

Our Parents’ Association is integral to the success of Scoil Eoin Baiste. All parents and guardians of children attending Scoil Eoin Baiste are part of the Parents’ Association.
Parents' Association Committee
Within Scoil Eoin Baiste Parents’ Association, we have a Committee that plays an important role in supporting the partnership between the school and the children’s parents. The purpose of the Parents’ Association Committee (PAC) is to support the school by organising activities and social events for children and parents, and to fundraise where possible.
Committee members
Currently our Parents Association is made up of:
Chairperson: Dympna Caldwell
Vice-Chairperson: Susie Coyle
Secretary: Nadine Bassett
Treasurer: Shauna Mc Gettigan
It is comprised of a diverse group of people with many different skills who work well together in trying to achieve the very best for our school.
What the committee does
One of the main objectives for the PAC is to improve the overall experience for parents, guardians, children and teachers within our school community. This is achieved by assisting with the organising of events throughout the year. The PAC aims for a balance between social activities, fundraising events, and school engagement, meeting throughout the year to discuss and plan such events and activities.
Here are some examples of PAC led initiatives in Scoil Eoin Baiste in the past number of years:
- Halloween Treats for all the children in the school
- The organisation & running of an annual Christmas Craft Fair
- The decorating of the school grounds for Christmas
- The organisation of a special Christmas visitor each year
- Organising and serving refreshments for all parents, grandparents and family members for events such as
Grandparents Day & St. Brigid's Day Cross-Making
Christmas Carol Service
Raising of Active Flag, Digital Flag, Green Flag, Health-Promoting Flag
New infants first visit to the school
- Parent Talks including 'Internet Safety'
- Organising and running an Easter Egg Hunt
- Organising celebrations for 6th class on their final days at Primary School
The National Parents Council provides great information on the role of Parents Associations in primary schools.
