As part of our Well-Being week we had a special visitor to the school. Today Annie joined us along with her 5 month old trainee guide dog Ophelia. Annie is well accustomed to working with guide dogs & the children learned all about how she socialises the dog by taking her to the shops, to mass, on buses etc.
It costs €53,000 to train a guide dog from birth to maturity & as a result we are hosting a non-uniform day in aid of the Irish Guide Dogs for the blind during our well-being week.
