Explorers Seashore Safari
23rd Mar 2026
We were very fortunate to have two of our senior classes selected to take part in the Marine Institute Explorers Programme. This is an award winning programme that brings the ocean to the classroom.
Today 3rd, 4th & 6th class had a classroom workshop hosted by a trained Explorers Officer in preparation for our seashore visit in April. With safety as number one the pupils learned about tides, animals & plants in our oceans & the habitats of the various ocean creatures. In learning about the various levels of the ocean the children became familiar with the types of seaweed found at each level & when to watch out for incoming tides according to the seaweed they can see.
